Biryani was ordered online by a 20-year-old woman from Kerala, India. Relatives alleged that he died after eating the biryani ordered.

According to a report by the country’s news agency PTI, the young woman named Anju Sriparvati ordered biryani from a local hotel ‘Romansia’ in the state. It is suspected that he died after consuming that food.

Anju Sriparvathy lived in Perumbala area near Kasaragod in Kerala, PTI reported citing Kerala Police. On December 31, he ordered ‘Kuzhimanthi’ biryani online from a restaurant called Romanshia in Kasaragod. Later, after consuming that food, he fell ill and was taken to the hospital. He died on Saturday morning while undergoing treatment there.

The parents of the girl have filed a police complaint, Kerala Police said. Later it was registered as a case. Further action will be taken based on the forensic report of the deceased.

Meanwhile, Kerala Health Minister Veena George has ordered an investigation into the cause of death. “The Food Safety Commissioner has been directed to submit a report on the death of the young woman,” he told the media.

He said, under the Food Safety and Standards Act (FSSA), the license of all the hotels whose food has such complaints will be cancelled.
