


Russia has recently announced the mobilization of new troops to fight in Ukraine. Immediately after the announcement, the United States urged its citizens to leave Russia immediately. Al-Jazeera news.
In a security alert issued at midnight on Tuesday, the US Embassy in Moscow said Americans should make arrangements to leave Russia on their own ‘as soon as possible’.
The warning also states, ‘Russia may refuse to recognize dual nationals as US citizens, deny them access to US consular assistance, prevent their departure from Russia, and conscript dual nationals into military service.’
The US State Department urged US citizens to leave Russia in March amid rising tensions between Washington and Moscow over the invasion of Ukraine.
The US Embassy in Moscow also warned US citizens against participating in protests in Russia. “We remind US citizens that the right to peaceful assembly and freedom of expression are not guaranteed in Russia,” the warning said.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday afternoon, Washington announced an additional $1.1 billion package for arms and military equipment for Ukraine.
White House press secretary Karin Jean-Pierre said the weapons package would include 18 high mobility artillery rocket systems (HUMERS), hundreds of armored vehicles, radar and counter-drone systems.
