Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) on Monday accused Ukraine of stockpiling Western-supplied weapons at nuclear power plants across the country. However, the company has not provided any evidence for this claim. News from Reuters.

US-supplied Himmers rocket launchers, air defense systems and artillery ammunition have been delivered to the Rivne nuclear power plant in northwestern Ukraine, the SVR said in a statement.

The statement also said that the Ukrainian armed forces are storing Western-provided weapons and ammunition on the territory of the nuclear power plant. An arms shipment arrived at Rivne Power Station in the last week of December.

Many of Ukraine’s nuclear power plants have been the focus of attention since the beginning of the conflict. Less than 48 hours after the troops invaded, Russian forces seized the defunct Chornobyl nuclear power plant and also the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant, Europe’s largest.

Both Kyiv and Moscow have accused each other of shelling Zaporizhia, and Ukraine says Russia is using the site as a de facto weapons depot. The UN nuclear watchdog has expressed deep concern over the attack near the plant, warning of the risk of a nuclear disaster.
