The country has confirmed the news of the death of 15 people, including the country’s interior minister, after a helicopter crashed in the capital of Ukraine, Kiev. The helicopter crashed near a kindergarten in eastern Kiev, reports saidOrganization Reuters.

In addition to the Minister of Interior Denis Monastarski, the Deputy Minister of Interior was also killed in this incident. In addition, among the dead are senior officials of the country and three children.

Nine people on board and six on the ground were killed when the French-made Super Puma helicopter crashed in a residential area on the outskirts of Brovary, on the capital’s eastern outskirts, officials said. Among them are three children. Earlier, officials initially reported the death toll at 18.

The regional governor said that 29 people including 15 children were injured.

President Volodymyr Zelensky called the crash a terrible tragedy and said the full casualty figure was still being determined and he ordered an investigation. “This minute, three children have died,” he said in a statement. The pain is indescribable.’

At the scene, debris was strewn across a muddy playground and emergency workers gathered with a fleet of ambulances.

In a courtyard lay several corpses in blue Home Ministry uniforms and black boots, visible from under foam blankets over them. A large part of the plane fell on a car, which was also destroyed.

National Police Chief Ihr Klymenko confirmed that Interior Minister Denis Monastirsky was killed alongside his first deputy, Yevni Yenin, and other ministry officials in the helicopter crash operated by the state emergency service.

Ukrainian officials said it was not immediately clear what caused the helicopter to crash. There was no immediate comment from Russia, which invaded Ukraine last February, and Ukrainian officials did not mention any Russian attacks in the area at the time.

Air Force spokesman Yuri Ihanat said, ‘Unfortunately, if something goes wrong in the sky, it doesn’t, as the pilots say. But there is no investigation yet to talk about the reasons. It may take at least several weeks to investigate the disaster.’
