Liz Truss has been elected as the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. Two members of former Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s cabinet resigned before he was elected as Prime Minister. They are Home Minister Priti Patel and Culture Minister Nadine Dorries.
The BBC reported this information in a report.
Priti Patel, a British politician of Indian origin, has announced that she will not be in the new cabinet.
In a letter to outgoing Prime Minister Boris Johnson, Priti said, ‘I will step down once the Lease Trust formally takes over and a new Home Secretary is appointed.’
He also congratulated the new Prime Minister Liz Truss in the letter. At the same time, he also expressed his support for Liz in the future.
“I am proud to have done the job of protecting the country and reforming the immigration system,” Preeti wrote, saying she was honored to serve as home minister.
And Culture Minister Nadine Dorries told the BBC she will now focus on writing.
