Brandon Lewis and House of Commons Chief Whip Wendy Morton have announced their resignations as Justice Secretary after becoming the new Prime Minister. BBC news.

Lewis shared the resignation letter on Twitter after sending it to the country’s new prime minister, Rishi Sunak. In a tweet, he said, ‘It is an honor to be one of the Ministers of the Supreme Council of Ministers. I will have my support from the backbench for the new Prime Minister to meet the challenges as a party and as a country.’

He has served in eight ministerial roles in five departments under four previous British prime ministers.

Wendy Morton stepped down, saying, ‘Moving to the backbench where I will continue to represent the constituents, businesses and community of Aldridge-Brownhills.’
