After buying the ownership of Twitter, Elon Musk of Dhan Kuber has been making scandals one after another. This time, almost 90 percent of the employees from Twitter’s India office were fired. Musk announced layoffs as part of global downsizing shortly after taking ownership.

A related official, who did not want to be named, said that Twitter had hired only 200 employees in India and now only a dozen employees remain.

NDTV reports that nearly 70 percent of India’s job losses are in product and engineering teams. There have also been layoffs in various functions, including marketing, public policy and corporate communications. Globally, San Francisco, California-based Twitter has cut its headcount by about 3,700 workers.

Twitter’s India offices are located in Mumbai, Bangalore and New Delhi.

According to Bloomberg News, the company has about 3,700 workers remaining worldwide. After the layoffs, Elon Musk tweeted that the laid-off workers will be paid three months’ salary in advance.
