Former US Congresswoman and 2020 presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard has announced her resignation from the Democratic Party. He claimed that Democrats are warmongers. He made the announcement in a video message on his verified Twitter account.
Establishment Democrats were already calling for him to leave the party and declare himself a Republican.
In a video message Tuesday, Gabbard said, “I can no longer be in today’s Democratic Party that is now completely controlled by an elite cabal of warmongers.” President Joe Biden’s teammates are driven by ‘cowardly awakenings who divide us by racializing every issue and fueling anti-white racism…who are hostile to people of faith and spirituality…who believe in open borders…who national security Arms states to go after their political opponents and, above all, those who are dragging us closer to nuclear war.’
Gabbard has not declared herself a Republican, despite sharing many of the anti-interventionist views of the GOP’s ‘America First’ wing.
Despite the support of establishment Republicans, the Democratic Party has voted almost unanimously in recent months to send more than $52 billion in aid to Ukraine. But Gabbard slammed Biden for “strengthening NATO and exploiting this war through military-industrial complex.”
Gabbard claims her former party promotes anti-white racism, open borders and the persecution of their political opponents.
Gabbard has long opposed US involvement in and financing of foreign conflicts. During his four terms from 2013 to 2021, he advocated a tough policy dialogue on Islamic terrorism with America’s rival superpower. Failed 2016 presidential candidate Hillary Clinton accused Gabbard of being a ‘Russian asset’ in 2019.
Gabbard called Clinton a ‘rotten figure sickening the Democratic Party’ and sued the former secretary of state for defamation.
