


The United States has announced the start of bilateral formal trade dialogue with Taiwan.
BBC reported this information on Thursday (18 August).
According to the relevant office of the United States, the first phase of the trade dialogue can be “early autumn”. Discussions may include trade facilitation, digital trade and anti-corruption standards.
Recently, US House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi visited Taiwan. Bilateral relations between the United States and China worsened around his visit. In the meantime, the United States has announced the start of a new trade dialogue with Taiwan.
The monetary value of trade between the US and Taiwan in 2020 was approximately US$106 billion.
