The coffin carrying the body of Queen Elizabeth II, the longest-serving member of the British throne, has left Buckingham Palace in Balmoral for Edinburgh.

At this time, ordinary citizens were present on both sides of the road. They bid farewell to the queen.

According to a report in The Telegraph, the Queen’s body was laid to rest in the Balmoral Ballroom of Buckingham Palace for palace staff to pay their last respects.

Later, at 10am local time, the coffin carrying the Queen left for Edinburgh. Balmoral to Edinburgh can take up to six hours by car.
