India’s controversial and criticized religious guru Ram Rahim Singh was released on parole recently. Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet, who served 20 years in prison for rape and murder, was released on parole for 40 days from Sunaria Jail in Haryana’s Rohtak district on Saturday. After his release, he celebrated by cutting a cake with a sword and again discussed it.

According to the NDTV report, after his release, he went to Barnawa Ashram in Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh. From there, a video of him went viral on social media.

In the video, he is seen celebrating by cutting the cake with a sword. In the video, he is heard saying, ‘I couldn’t cut the cake for five years. I should cut 5 cakes. This is the first cake.’

Ram Rahim’s ‘independence celebration’ was attended by several of his followers as well as BJP leaders from Haryana. Rajya Sabha MP Krishanlal Panwar and former minister Krishankumar Bedi were also present on the occasion. Ram Rahim also inaugurated Swachta Abhiyan program virtually from this event.

Even after being released on parole on October 14 last year, Ram Rahim stirred up controversy by participating in various programs with BJP leaders. He was later sent back to Sunaria jail in Haryana’s Rohtak district on November 25.
