A gun attack took place on Saturday night at a gay nightclub in Colorado, USA. At least 5 people were killed and 18 injured in the incident, according to a report by Reuters, citing local police.

A suspect was in custody and was being treated for injuries after the attack at Club Q, Colorado Springs police Lt. Pamela Castro said at a news conference.

Police received a phone call just before midnight about the shooting. Upon arrival, officers located a suspect inside the club, Castro said.

He did not provide any information about the motive for the attack and declined to say what type of firearm was used in the shooting.

Reuters reports that the club is for adult gays.

The club said in a statement on its Facebook page: ‘Our community has been devastated by this senseless attack… We thank the brave customers for their quick response who subdued the gunman and put an end to this hateful attack.’
