


At least nine people have been killed and several others injured after a gunman opened fire at a school in central Russia. Among the victims of the attack were five children from a school of about 1,000 students in the city of Izhevsk. BBC news.
The gunman is said to have committed suicide and his motive is unknown. Emergency officials are currently on the scene.
Russian officials said two teachers and two security guards were among the dead. Staff and students have been evacuated from the school building.
A local MP said the attacker was carrying two pistols. State news agency Tass quoted investigators as saying the gunman was wearing a T-shirt with Nazi symbols and a balaclava.
The school is located in the center of Izhevsk, a city of about 650,000 inhabitants, close to the central government building.
