Putin said this in an interview given to the country’s state television on the occasion of Christmas. However, he complained that Kyiv and its Western supporters are not willing to negotiate.
“We are fighting to protect national interests,” Putin said. This fight is to protect the interests of our citizens. We have no other way to protect the people.’
In the interview, he also said that the Patriot missile system that the United States will supply to Ukraine will be destroyed. Russian forces will destroy the Pentagon’s state-of-the-art air defense system in Ukraine.
Asked if the geopolitical conflict with the West had reached a dangerous level, Putin said, “I don’t think it’s that dangerous.”
Saying that Russia is on the right track in Ukraine, the Russian President said that the West, led by the United States, is engaged in a conspiracy to isolate Russia. However, Washington has denied this allegation.
While Russia’s ‘special military operation’ has been going on for almost 10 months in Ukraine with the aim of demilitarization.
