Israeli police shot and killed a Palestinian citizen in the central city of Kafr Qasim. Three police officers were also injured, authorities and doctors said. Al-Jazeera news.
The Palestinian Arab 48 website reported on Friday, citing family members of the victims, that police denied the killings. They claim the man tried to attack the officers.
Israeli police said their officers were lured into an ambush in Kafr Qasim, a Palestinian town in Israel, 19 km northeast of Tel Aviv and outside the occupied West Bank.
Police allege the officers were responding to a false report of a violent incident. A man there tried to shoot at them, then a car rammed into some of the officers, slightly injuring them.
Security camera footage released by Israeli police shows a man exiting a building and attempting to shoot a police officer before a car appears and reverses into a crowd of officers.
Israel’s Magen David Adom emergency services said the man was then shot by police. Soldiers and police said they found a knife and an automatic weapon with tear gas at the scene.
