Russia claims to have foiled a series of drone attacks on its ‘Black Sea Fleet’. The fleet has been deployed to ensure the security of the grain export corridor from the port of Sevastopol in the Crimean Valley. Russia’s military said a drone attack on the fleet off the coast of Sevastopol had been foiled.
“Sevastopol’s air defense system repelled the drone attack for several hours starting at 4:30 a.m. on Saturday,” Sevastopol Governor Mikhail Razvozhaiev said. He said all the drones were shot down and no civilian structures were damaged. Razvozhaiev claimed that no one was injured in the attack.
Russia has blamed Britain and Ukraine for the drone attack on the Crimean peninsula’s largest city. The Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement that the drone attack was carried out under the supervision of British experts deployed in the city of Ochakiv, Mykolaiv region, Ukraine.
The ministry also said that the Russian fleet was deployed to ensure global food supply through the Ukrainian port. Russia has suspended its responsibility to protect the security of grain exports from Ukraine due to drone strikes, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
