Lebanon and Zionist Israel have finally signed a maritime demarcation agreement. The agreement would allow Lebanon to determine its southern maritime boundaries.

The final documents on the agreement were presented to the United Nations after a long process of indirect negotiations with Israel.

After the signing of the agreement, the Secretary General of Lebanon’s Islamic resistance movement Hezbollah, Sayed Hassan Nasrullah, said in a statement that the agreement is a victory for the Lebanese government, people and resistance forces. At the same time, he urged Hezbollah fighters to be on high alert.

After the signing of the agreement, the US ambassador to the country met with the top level officials of Lebanon.

Experts believe that, as a result of this agreement, Lebanon will now become an oil exporting country. Lebanese President Michel Aoun said that the maritime boundary agreement is a political matter, and Israel has no diplomatic relations with it.

After Israel and Lebanon signed the agreement, US President Joe Biden praised it. He said, this agreement will facilitate the extraction of Lebanon’s own natural resources. The deal comes at a time when Western countries are looking for gas exporting countries and trying to find alternatives to Russian gas.
