Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, head of the World Health Organization (WHO), said that the number of cases of coronavirus worldwide has decreased dramatically. He urged every country to continue their efforts to fight the corona epidemic.
Al Jazeera reported that Tedros gave the above information to reporters in a virtual press conference on Wednesday (September 14).
So far, more than six million people have died due to the corona virus.
Tedros also said, ‘We have never been in a better position to end the coronavirus pandemic. We’re not there yet, but the end (of the pandemic) is in sight.’
Since March 2020, the rate of infection with the corona virus has decreased dramatically. Corona infection was at its lowest level last week.
The head of the World Health Organization said, ‘If we do not seize this opportunity now, we risk more variants of the virus, more deaths, more restrictions and more uncertainty.’
