


Faizeh Hashemi, the daughter of the country’s former president Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, has been arrested on charges of inciting protests over the death of Kurdish young woman Mahsa Amini in Iran.
He was arrested by members of an intelligence agency in eastern Tehran on charges of inciting protesters, Anadolu Agency reported, citing state news agency Tasnim News Agency.
He was under the surveillance of intelligence agencies as he was active in the anti-government movement on various issues. He is about to become president.
Earlier, in September 2012, he spent 6 months in a Tehran prison for his involvement in anti-government propaganda activities.
In 2009, he was arrested several times for his involvement in anti-government protests.
Ali Akbar Rafsanjani, who served as president from 1989 to 1997, was one of the organizers of the Iranian Revolution. Despite this, this reformist leader served in various positions of state importance. He died in 2017.
