UAE has introduced new visa rules. Visa rules were changed to attract more skilled professionals to the country. One of its goals is to recover from the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic and achieve economic growth.

The country’s Director General of Residency, Major General Sultan Youssef Al-Nuaimi, said, ‘The visa rules are designed to improve the quality of life and make the experience of living, working and investing in the UAE pleasant and enjoyable.’ News Al Jazeera.

The first green visa was announced in Dubai in September 2021. This visa allows expats to stay in the UAE for five years, without the need for citizenship and employer support. Freelancers, skilled workers and investors can apply for this visa.

Green visa holders can accompany spouse, children, parents, sister or brother. And if one has a male child, then he can get the benefit till the age of 25 years. Earlier this age limit was 18 years for boys.

There is no age limit for unmarried women or disabled children in the new rules. A grace period of six months will be given if one’s visa expires or is cancelled.

Besides, under the golden visa, one can stay in Dubai for 10 consecutive years. Investors, businessmen or researchers, doctors, scientists get golden visa.

After the new rules come into effect, now a golden visa holder will not have his visa canceled even if he is outside the UAE for 6 months. Also, this visa holder can have any number of domestic workers. On the other hand, family members, spouses and children of any age can be kept together in Golden Visa. They can stay together until the visa is canceled or expires.

And according to the new rules, now if someone goes to the United Arab Emirates on a tourist visa, he can stay there for two months. The earlier rule of 30 days has been changed to 60 days. In addition, a new multi-entry tourist visa was also announced, which will allow a stay of up to 90 days in the UAE.

At the same time, job seekers will not need a sponsor for their visa. Graduates from 500 universities around the world and qualified within the three skill levels of the Ministry of Human Resources can get employment visas.
