Bodies are being recovered one after another after a plane crash with 72 passengers in Nepal’s Pokhara. Among the dead, 15 are foreign nationals. In this accident, 64 bodies were recovered till Sunday evening.

The Yeti Airlines flight was traveling from the capital Kathmandu to Pokhara. The plane crashed between Pokhara’s old airport and the new international airport on Sunday morning local time.

All the passengers are believed to have died as the fire broke out shortly after the crash. Of the 72 passengers on board, 68 were passengers and 4 were crew. Pokhara International Airport has been closed after the plane crash.

Yeti Airlines spokesperson Sudarshan Bartaula told the Kathmandu Post that 64 bodies had been recovered from the plane crash till evening. What happened to the rest is not yet known.

The plane crashed in a gorge between two mountains, police official Ajay KC told Reuters. As a result, the rescue operation has to be accelerated.

According to flight tracking website FlightRadar24, the plane that crashed is 15 years old.
