India’s Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has searched Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia’s residence for alleged irregularities in excise duty policy.
According to NDTV, the CBI searched the house of Manish Sisodia on Friday morning local time. Apart from Manish’s house, the CBI raided 20 other houses in seven provinces of the country.
Reacting to the CBI’s search operation, Manish said, ‘We welcome the CBI. I will fully support the investigation, so that the truth is revealed quickly.’
‘So far there have been many cases in my name, but nothing has come out. This (search) will also yield nothing. My work cannot be stopped for the better education of the country.’
He further said that it is very unfortunate that people who do good work in our country are harassed like this. Because of this, we could not be number one in our country.
The Delhi government has made huge improvements in the health and education sectors. Therefore, he claimed that the ministers of these two ministries are being targeted.
Delhi Health Minister Satendra Jain has been in jail since last May.
In a press conference after the CBI search, Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal said that no search operation can stop his party from developing the country. There were searches in the past as well. But nothing was found then and nothing will be found in the future.
