UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak will not attend UN Climate Conference COP-27. He said that he will not go to this conference to be held in Egypt in November.

Meanwhile, the White House said in a statement that US President Joe Bowden will attend the COP-27 UN Climate Conference. It said President Biden will highlight the need to act on climate there.

A White House statement said Biden will lead the fight against global climate change and help those most vulnerable to climate impacts return to normal. He will highlight the need to work with the world on climate in this decade of determination.

On the other hand, to a question about not going to the United Nations Climate Conference Cop-27, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom said, ‘The United Kingdom is playing a leadership role in preventing climate change. The leadership we have shown on climate is unmatched around the world.’

“However, at this moment, we need to pay more attention to the country’s urgent internal challenges rather than going to Egypt for the COP-27 climate conference. I think it’s right to focus on the internal challenges we have with the economy,” added Sunak.

COP stands for Conference of the Parties, a United Nations initiative to combat climate change-related disasters in the world. In 1995, the first conference of COP was held. Finally, the 26th conference was held in Glasgow, Scotland in October-November 2021.

Egypt is going to host the 27th COP-27 conference in the Red Sea resort city of Sharm el-Sheikh next November 6-18.
