In extremely intimate moments, lovers love to bite each other’s throats. In the West this ‘love spot’ is known as a ‘hickey’. The purpose of the hickey is simply to express excitement and love. But once a lover died from the bite of that love.
The dead lover’s name is Julio Macias Gonzalez. He was only 17 years old at the time of his death. How did the young Machias die from the love bite of his lover? In August 2016, Julio, a resident of Mexico City, returned home after spending a pleasant and romantic evening with his 24-year-old girlfriend.
But back home, sitting at the dinner table with his family, Julio suddenly began to have a seizure. He was rushed to the hospital. But despite many efforts, he could not be saved. He died during treatment.
Doctors said Julio died of brain stroke. They also said that Julio’s brain stroke was caused by hickeys from his girlfriend. Family members were told by doctors that Julio’s throat had formed a blood clot from a lover’s ‘sweet bite’. Julio had a brain stroke after the clot was carried with liquid blood and reached the brain.
Julio’s family members blamed his lover for the death. It is also claimed that the lover deliberately bit Julio’s throat. On learning of Julio’s death, his lover fled the city.
According to Dr. Robert Glatter of Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City, ‘A hickey can kill a person if not bitten properly. Prolonged hiccups can cause direct pressure on the carotid artery. This can cause tearing of the blood vessel walls and blood clots. This blood clot can travel to the brain and cause a brain stroke.
But this is not the first time, earlier in 2010, a 44-year-old woman from New Zealand fell ill due to a bite on her throat. In that incident, the blood clot went to the woman’s heart. As a result he was paralyzed. However, he survived.
