About 6,000 Russian soldiers have been killed in the seven-month war between Russia and Ukraine.
According to Qatar-based media Al Jazeera, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu gave this information in a television interview on Wednesday (September 21) local time.
Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said that 5,937 of their soldiers have been killed since the start of Russia’s operation in Ukraine last February.
Shoigu also said that Ukraine is fighting a joint war with the West. Russia is not doing that.
On February 24, President Vladimir Putin announced the start of a ‘special military operation’ in Ukraine on the orders of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Russian troops have taken control of one-fifth of Ukraine in the past seven months of war. But the Ukrainian army has now launched a counterattack. Russian forces lost control of some areas in the counter-attack.
