Six people, including two police officers, were killed in a gun attack by terrorists on Owens Road in Wembila, Down region of Queensland, Australia. Shots were fired at the policemen from inside a house as they approached the scene around 4:40pm local time on Monday.
Policemen went to the spot to get a report of a missing person. After that, when the policemen reached there, shots were fired from inside the house.
Queensland Police Commissioner Katrina Carroll confirmed the incident. He said four police officers went there. This happened there.
Authorities have declared the area as an ’emergency zone’ for security reasons. People have been asked to avoid the area. Very few people live in that area. There are several large resources and gas fields. -The Guardian and Reuters.
