


31 people were killed in two separate road accidents in India’s Uttar Pradesh. Besides, at least 27 others were injured.
A separate accident took place in Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur on Saturday night local time.
Quoting local government officials, NDTV reported that a trolley carrying about 50 pilgrims overturned and fell into a pond in Kanpur’s Ghatampur area. 26 pilgrims died in that incident. Most of the dead are women and children. At least 20 people were seriously injured in this incident. They were admitted to a local hospital.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed grief over the death of pilgrims. 2 lakh compensation to the families of all those killed and 50 thousand rupees to the injured.
Meanwhile, a report by news agency ANI said that the station in-charge of Sarh police station has been temporarily suspended due to late arrival at the scene of the accident.
On the other hand, a few hours after this incident, another accident took place in the same area. The truck rammed an autorickshaw near the Ahirwan flyover. Five people died and seven were injured. Later, the police admitted the injured to the hospital.
The country’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed grief over the death of pilgrims in the accident. He announced compensation of Rs 2 lakh to the families of the deceased and Rs 50,000 to the injured.
