At least 25 people were killed when a bus carrying a groom fell into a ditch in India. The accident took place in Birokhal area of Pauri Garhwal district of Uttarakhand state on Tuesday night. There were 40 passengers in the bus.
According to an NDTV report, the bus fell into a 500 meter deep ditch on its way to a village. The State Disaster Response Force and the police rescued 21 passengers alive in an overnight operation. The injured have been admitted to a local hospital.
State police chief Ashok Kumar shared a video footage of the rescue operation at the accident site on Twitter. It was seen that the injured passengers were taken to a safe place.
