Fourteen people were killed in a head-on collision between a large cargo trolley and a passenger bus in the Rewa area of ​​Madhya Pradesh, India. The accident happened around 11:30 pm on Friday. At least 40 other passengers of the bus were injured.

According to police sources, there were at least 60 passengers in the long-distance bus from Telangana in Hyderabad to Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh when the accident occurred.

The bus hit the freight trolley around 11:30 pm on Friday near Sohagi Pahari village in Rewa district, bordering Uttar Pradesh. On receiving the information, the police of the local outpost and the villagers started the rescue operation.

Some of the injured are in critical condition. As a result, the list of dead is likely to be long. 20 seriously injured people have been admitted to a government hospital in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. The rest are undergoing treatment at the local Taunthor Block Health Centre.
